FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

University of Kentucky golfer Cullan Brown died yesterday after a courageous, nearly yearlong battle with cancer. The PGA TOUR Barbasol Championship mourns the passing of this exceptional young man.

Cullan was a gentleman of the first order who never met a stranger and whose radiant smile lit up every room he entered. His faith, love of family, positive attitude, sportsmanship, and unparalleled selflessness was a shining example to us all.

Cullan received an exemption to play in the Barbasol last year coming off a tremendous freshman season at UK. His first-ever appearance playing in a PGA TOUR event was an impressive one, shooting 10-under par for the tournament and becoming a favorite among tournament officials, fans, volunteers, and his fellow golfers. He was a champion both on and off the course.

Cullan made such an indelible impact on the lives of so many during his short time in this world. We are all richer for the experience of having known him and his light will shine on through everyone who was blessed to have made his acquaintance.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Cullan’s family, friends, and teammates. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by us all.

In Memoriam
